These
are the decorations we used to celebrate our Happy New Year, we
think that can be used for many occasions as you can obtain very
different looks just choosing different papers to build them.
Here
the pictures showing how to build one of them.
Queste
costruiscono.
Queste
foto mostrano il procedimento per farne una.
You
will have to cut six of the patterns for each lantern, the 3 pieces
in this picture will make an half ball.
Bisogna
In
this picture you see how to form one sector of the ball.
If
you use an interesting paper for the stucture itself you can keep the
holes open like e lace decoration, keeping in mind that that closing
the sector you will turn the long strips and so you will see the
back side of your paper in the horizontal trimmings running all
around.
Here
you can see the effect inserting a decorative paper to be seen
through the holes.
Qui
fori.

DeleteIt was not easy to assembly the lanterns. Some of the parts that should have been scored were cut instead and therefore made it difficult to attach each part together. I finally assembled the large ball and didn't even attempt the smaller ones. It would have also helped to see a video on how to assemble it.
ReplyDeleteDear Vivian, I am sorry that you had troubles cutting the lanterns, I am a designer and not not an expert of all and any software for cutting machines, it is not my job or my passion! But in the past the solutions regarding software use I suggested worked well. You can be assured that the dotted lines are really dotted and grouped properly. The file is ok, and has been used by a large number of makers around the world so I suggest next time just follow the following step one by one.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all you go on the mat and unlock the design. On the right side of the screen appears greysh column with a list of all the pieces with a thumb image of the shape and of the lines (the folds) of each shape.
select the lines and the area will get darker, then move a little on the left and under "layers" there are the icons with the scissor, the pen, the punch and the printer, select the scring sign and the lines that looked continuous became dotted on the mat.
