The inspiration for this Easter themed chocolates box/ lantern is the awakening of Nature, a Spring with birds flying and nesting around and blooms everywhere. So this year there is a bird on the roof and big colorful flowers in full bloom fill the house.

L'ispirazione per questa Scatola/ lanterna per le uova di cioccolato è il risveglio della Natura, una Primavera con uccellini che volano e fanno il nido attorno e fioriture ovunque. Così quest'anno c'è un uccellino sul tetto e grandi fiori riempiono la casa.

 

Build it is very easy, just remember not to glue the bird flat on the roof :) ! When placing the inner container for the tea light be careful not to damage the cut décor on the sides of the box. 

Costruirla è davvero facile, solo ricordate di non incollare l'uccellino piatto sul tetto:)! State attenti a non danneggiare il traforo sulle pareti quando inserite la scatola della tea light.

Ispirazioni di primavera. Spring inspirations

La Primavera è una stagione meravigliosa, ma si porta dietro tanto lavoro, che occupa tanto del nostro tempo. Fra iris, peonie , glicini e soprattutto erba  da tagliare il nostro giardino ci tiene abbastanza occupati!

Spring is a wonderful season, but it comes with a lot of work to be done that eats up a lot of our time . With irises, peonies, wisterias and over all  wild grass to cut our garden is keeping us quite busy.

Comunque Il nostro giardino è sempre  una grande fonte di ispirazione e piano piano le idee che ci stanno venendo prenderanno forma nei prossimi post!!

Anyway our garden is always a great source of inspiration and little by little the projects that are just ideas for now will take form in the coming posts.

Una delle nostre piante preferite sono gli iris di cui abbiamo una variata collezione comprendente Iris barbata, siberiani, japonica , bulbosi ed acquatici.

We are very fond of Irises of wich we have a collection including Iris bearded, siberian, japonica , bulbs and water irises.

Oltre al glicine di cui abbiamo per ora solo un paio di esemplari abbiamo anche una passione per le peonie.

We have for now only  a couple of wisterias  while our passion for peonias lead us to plant many varieties of this gorgeous plant.

Tante le idee che vengono indotte da queste fioriture: dalle decorazioni per un party in giardino all’organizzazione dei semi con buste personalizzate.

The blooming seasons brings many ideas from garden party decorations to personalized seeds envelopes.

Hi everybody, here are some of the papers that we are preparing, as you can see they are organized as series so they are more flexible to use : a page can be a background  and  can be matched with a piece of another that will be a border or an accent… as in the best scrapbooking tradition!!!

Buona  giornata a tutti.  Ecco qui alcune delle carte che stiamo preparando, come si vede sono organizzate per serie così da essere più flessibili da usare. Una può fare da sfondo mentre da un’altra si possono ritagliare un bordo o un decoro…nella migliore tradizione dello scrapbooking!!!

A crazy drawing of flowers and leaves is the inspiration of two different series: “Regina di Fiori”(Queen of flowers) and “Fiori Jazz” (Jazz Flowers).

Un disegno pazzo di fiori e foglie  è l’ispirazione di due serie: “Regina di Fiori” e “Fiori Jazz”.

Here some first ideas for the ”Regina di Fiori” paper: an album for springtime annotations with the key of a secret garden, in precious Swarovski  crystal.

Qui alcune prime idee per usare la carta “Regina di Fiori”. Un album con appunti sulla primavera con la chiave di un giardino segreto  in prezioso cristallo Swarovski.

Free download PDF Easter basket. Cestino pasquale in pdf

Sono molto felice di essere riuscita a postare questa versione pdf del mio cestino pasquale perché so che qualcuno la stava  aspettando. Ho cercato di renderlo interessante anche se è meno complesso dell’altro, così che sia  possibile tagliarlo con un buon paio di forbici e un cutter. Quello che ho tagliato per me lo ho ulteriormente arricchito con qualche tocco di pennarello e così non c’è limite alla pazzia! Ho anche aggiunto un tris di viole del mio giardino scansite e ritagliate. Il nostro giardino è sempre fonte di ispirazione e spero col tempo di spiegare in questo blog quanto questo sia stato importante per noi.

Visto che gli ovetti erano quasi finiti (…qualcuno, come dicevo, ha avuto libero accesso) ho messo dentro un uovo decorato  a batik della nostra collezione.

I am very happy to post the pdf file for this Easter inspired basket décor, as I know friends were waiting for it. I tried to make it interesting even if much simpler than the other version so it can be easier to cut by hand  with cutter and scissors. The one I cut for myself has touches of marker to embellish it ( no limits to madness). I also added  a tris of pansies from my garden, scanned and cut ! Our garden is always an inspiration for us and I hope with time on this blog to explain and share this feelings.

Seen that the chocolates were almost gone ( … as I said somebody had   free access to them) I placed inside the basket a batik painted egg from our collection.

Waiting for Spring Aspettando la Primavera

Mi ricordo di avere costruito  da bambina un cestino di cartoncino che è legato per me all’idea di Pasqua e di primavera. Mi sono messa per tempo per disegnarne una versione più elaborata. Questo per ora il risultato, più avanti un post pieno di ovetti pasquali con il free download del pattern.

I remember that  as a child I built a cardboard basket and this memory is bound for me to the idea of Easter and spring. I started early this year to project a more elaborate version. This is the result, soon I will upload a post full of Easter eggs and with the free download of this pattern.

“Silver" wall sconces. Candelabri da parete a specchio.

A touch of history for an object that takes us back in time, perfect decoration for a masquerade ball.

We got this idea watching a BBC beautiful tv series, “North and South”, a love  story in industrial revolution era in Great Britain. In the  breathtaking set construction many period details were shown, including the wall metal sconces. In rich mansions they  were  very elaborate silver decorations, in the poorer homes were just tin plates placed behind the candle to reflect the light and save the wall from smoke stains.

Of course in  1700 Venice were used mirrors, but this simpler ,but not so simple, idea of using a metallic dish gave us the idea. This object, now almost only as decoration, can be seen  around the world, and since we started we are spotting it in many places (there  is a couple of them  in the formal living room in “Signs”, while the aliens are storming outside).

Un tocco di storia per un oggetto che ci porta indietro nel tempo, decoro  ideale per un ballo in maschera.

L’idea ci è venuta guardando una bellissima serie tv della BBC, “North and  South” , ambientata nella  Gran Bretagna della rivoluzione industriale, dove c ‘erano alle pareti dei piatti metallici posti fra il muro e la candela per rifletterne la luce ( e proteggere la parete dal nerofumo ). Nelle case dei ricchi si trattava di elaborate decorazioni in argento, mentre nelle case più modeste di semplici piatti di latta. Nella Venezia del ‘700 il compito era svolto ovviamente da specchi , ma la rustica-non tanto rustica soluzione del piatto metallico ci ha fatto venire l’idea. Si tratta di un oggetto che, utilizzato più che altro a scopo decorativo,  si incontra in giro per il mondo  e  guardando con un occhio più attento si può trovare anche in altri film (è nel salotto buono di “SIGNS” ai lati del camino, ad esempio ).

Of course the idea of making others deigns is there and we have already plans, but the beauty of these projects, one simpler, one more elaborated, is that the structure is one only cardboard piece and a single, clean cut.

Viene voglia di sviluppare altri design e avremmo già mille idee in proposito, ma queste, una più semplice ed una più elaborata, hanno il fascino di essere  strutture ottenute da un solo pezzo di cartoncino con un solo taglio.

We tried with the led tea light and with the real tea light…the magic of the real flame is a different story, but of course nobody can think of use real candles with this sort of thing, especially if you place them all around the house !

Abbiamo provato con la candelina finta a pila (led tea light)  e con quella vera… l’atmosfera creata della fiamma è ovviamente diversa, ma non è pensabile di adoperare veramente fiamme libere in casa con questo tipo di oggetto, specie se si disseminano luci in tutti gli angoli!
