In vista di Pasqua abbiamo disegnato questa scatoletta per i vostri ovetti di cioccolato.

It has a house shape with decorated walls and roof and two windows to show the content.

We hope you enjoy making them and use them to share the joy of Easter.

Ha la forma di una casetta, con il tetto ed i muri decorati ed ha due finestre che ne mostrano il contenuto.

Speriamo che vi piaccia farne qualcuna e che le usiate per condividere la gioia di Pasqua.

The making of “Ball Lanterns”. Il making of delle “Palline lanterna”.

These are the decorations we used to celebrate our Happy New Year, we think that can be used for many occasions as you can obtain very different looks just choosing different papers to build them.

Here the pictures showing how to build one of them.

Queste sono le decorazioni che abbiamo usato per il nostro “Buon Anno Nuovo”, pensiamo che possano essere usate in molte altre occasioni visto che assumono aspetti diversi cambiando la carta con cui si costruiscono.

Queste foto mostrano il procedimento per farne una.

You will have to cut six of the patterns for each lantern, the 3 pieces in this picture will make an half ball.

Bisogna tagliare sei pezzi per ogni lanterna, in foto il necessario per costruirne metà.

In this picture you see how to form one sector of the ball.

Nella foto si vede come si forma uno dei settori della pallina.

If you use an interesting paper for the stucture itself you can keep the holes open like e lace decoration, keeping in mind that that closing the sector you will turn the long strips and so you will see the back side of your paper in the horizontal trimmings running all around.

Se si usa della carta interessante per la stuttura ( può essere un effetto decorativo se si sceglie una carta con due diverse fantasie sui due lati ricordando che il retro della carta si vedrà in tutto il bordo orizzontale delle palline) può essere un'idea lasciare vuoti I buchi per un effetto merletto.

Here you can see the effect inserting a decorative paper to be seen through the holes.

Qui invece viene inserita una carta decorativa che si veda attraverso I fori.

The bigger lantern measures : 13 by13 by14 (h) centimeters circa the intermediate measures : 12 by12 by13 (h) centimeters circa and the smallest measures : 11 by11 by12 (h) centimeters circa.

Le lanterne misurano circa 13 x13 x 14 centimetri la più grande, 12 x12 x 13 centimetri l'intermedia e 11 x11 x 12 centimetri la più piccola.

Painted Easter Bunny house/box easy to cut by hand. La casa/scatola del coniglio di Pasqua dipinta e facile da tagliare

We produced a painted version of our Rabbit house/box , it has stone walls, colorful plaster trimmings around the windows and a grass roof !

Abbiamo fatto una versione acquarellata della nostra casa/scatola del coniglio, ha mura in pietra, decori di intonaco colorato attorno alle finestre e un tetto di erba!

The procedure to build it is quite easy, but a little of  ability will be necessary in the folding and gluing… the cutting can be made by hand with the help of a cutter and a ruler, the only parts where scissors  will be needed will be the trimmings of the roofs.

Si tratta praticamente solo di tagli “dritti” da fare con cutter e righello, l’unica parte dove usare le forbici sono le decorazioni del tetto; un po’ di abilità è comunque necessaria per piegare e incollare il tutto.

To have better folds we use an exhausted ball pen to score them.

Per fare delle pieghe più pulite le segniamo  prima  con una biro scarica !

TRE FOGLI PER UN PORTA CANDELE : l’evoluzione THREE PAGES CANDLE HOLDER: the evolution

Nell’avvicinarsi del periodo delle festività natalizie abbiamo ripreso un progetto realizzato quest’estate.

For the coming Christmas season we restyle a project that we made last summer.

Una lanterna composta da tre pezzi di cartoncino comodamente ritagliabili da un unico foglio 12x12 pollici (circa un 30x30 cm) e  abbiamo pensato di creare dei decori e una busta per cogliere l’occasione di farne un piccolo regalo natalizio e, perché no, anche un biglietto d’auguri (per poterlo spedire, cosa che, come avrete capito, a noi piace).

It is a lantern made by three pages all cut easily in a single cardboard leaf 12X12 inches (30x30 cm circa). We thought to embellish it with decors and an envelope to transform it in a small present and , why not , a Christmas card to send  …as you have seen we like “snail mail”.

In the old pictures you could see that the lantern has space accomodate a small glass candle holder, but in the file are included the elements to make a opaline paper holder, in any case only led tea lights must be used for safety reasons. The paper holder screens and softens the light of the led.

Nelle vecchie foto si poteva notare che la lanterna lasciava spazio per un bicchierino porta candela ma nel file ci sono anche i pezzi per tagliarne uno di carta opalina, in ogni caso andranno comunque usate lucine a led per motivi di sicurezza. La carta opalina scherma e ammorbidisce la luce del led.

Nel centro dei tavolini di una festa son una simpatica decorazione che gli invitati potranno poi portare via come ricordo.

This lanterns at the center of the tables at a party are a cute decoration that can be taken home as souvenir.

Un piccolo esploratore: benvenuto Francesco ! A little traveller: welcome Francesco!

Quando ci è stato chiesto di fare un album per un bambino appena nato, ci è sembrato simpatico immaginarlo come un piccolo esploratore all’inizio di un bellissimo viaggio.
When we were requested a book to celebrate a birth, we thought funny to imagine the baby as a little traveller starting a new adventure.

Con la Big shot abbiamo “embossato” il dorso dell’album e con timbri e inchiostro gli abbiamo dato un aspetto vissuto. Anche il timbro dell’esploratore è stato acquarellato e poi scansito per aggiungere effetti e ridurne le dimensioni come era necessario.
With the Big Shot we embossed the back of the booklet and then with inks and stamps we gave it a worn out look. The traveler stamp has been colored with watercolors and scanned to add effects and resize it as needed.

Per il journaling abbiamo disegnato delle pagine decorate con francobolli colorati inventati per l’occasione.
To decorate the journaling pages we draw “custom made” stamps.

Where the drinks have no names. Dove le bibite non hanno nome.

When we organize a lunch or an afternoon  “tea” we have always the problem to make easy to identify the drinks with no brand names.  We like a mix, very popular with different names all around the world , of lemon scented soda (gazzosa, in Italian) and a little amount of beer. The “promoter” of this soft mix in our family  is Mario that used to drink it as an alternative for  the good, but strong, San Miguel beer in the Philippines, where they call it Shandy.
To mix it is probably  a capital offence for the serious beer drinker, but  it is really refreshing  in hot summers.

Quando organizziamo un pranzo o un “té” in giardino abbiamo sempre il problema di rendere facile l’identificazione delle bibite “senza marca”. Ci piace un mix, molto popolare in tutto il mondo con nomi diversi, fatto di gazzosa e poca birra. L’entusiasta di questa bibita in famiglia è Mario che la beveva  come alternativa  all’ottima, ma un po’ forte (per lui) birra San Miguel, quando viveva nelle Filippine, dove questo mix è chiamato Shandy. Si tratta di qualcosa che gli amanti della birra considerano un crimine da punirsi con la morte, ma è davvero rinfrescante nelle estati afose: togliete un bicchiere di gazzosa dalla bottiglia e sostituitelo con uno di birra e avete una bottiglia di Shandy.

 

 

We made a lettering and bubbles  decoration to hung to the bottle neck  kept in place by a “belt”. It looks like a colorful addition to the  table and perfectly accomplishes its mission.

 

Abbiamo fatto una decorazione  bolle e lettering da appendere al collo della bottiglia, tenuto al suo posto da un cinturino. Ci sembra un’ aggiunta colorata ad una tavola in festa e serve perfettamente al suo scopo.

 

 

We hope that the wheather will be nicer than it has been this July and August and will give us some wonderful  days in September (and  October) to enjoy our gardens and friends company, so,  it is really a simple thing , but  if someone is interested and will leave a comment on this blog asking  can have the shandy studio file as a gift.


Speriamo che il tempo sia più bello di quello che è stato in luglio e agosto e ci dia qualche bella giornata in settembre e ottobre per godere dei nostri giardini e della compagnia degli amici, per cui, anche se è una piccola cosa , se a qualcuno il nostro progetto piace e lo volesse lasci un commento sul blog e ce lo chieda, gli invieremo il file di taglio .studio in regalo.

Hi everybody, here are some of the papers that we are preparing, as you can see they are organized as series so they are more flexible to use : a page can be a background  and  can be matched with a piece of another that will be a border or an accent… as in the best scrapbooking tradition!!!

Buona  giornata a tutti.  Ecco qui alcune delle carte che stiamo preparando, come si vede sono organizzate per serie così da essere più flessibili da usare. Una può fare da sfondo mentre da un’altra si possono ritagliare un bordo o un decoro…nella migliore tradizione dello scrapbooking!!!

A crazy drawing of flowers and leaves is the inspiration of two different series: “Regina di Fiori”(Queen of flowers) and “Fiori Jazz” (Jazz Flowers).

Un disegno pazzo di fiori e foglie  è l’ispirazione di due serie: “Regina di Fiori” e “Fiori Jazz”.

Here some first ideas for the ”Regina di Fiori” paper: an album for springtime annotations with the key of a secret garden, in precious Swarovski  crystal.

Qui alcune prime idee per usare la carta “Regina di Fiori”. Un album con appunti sulla primavera con la chiave di un giardino segreto  in prezioso cristallo Swarovski.
