Ogni progetto inizia con una serie di disegni a mano libera…

and the object gets a shape little by little.

e l’oggetto prende forma pian piano.

Il fondo della scatola è sagomato per permettere l’apertura delle porte…non si sa mai il coniglio non volesse uscire dal tetto!

The bottom of the box is cut to let free the doors openings, just in case the rabbit does not like the roof exit!

The fields around the house are decorated with fences and the edges to display the chocolate eggs help to cover the joints of the outer ring.

I campi intorno alla casa sono abbelliti da steccati e le “siepi” porta ovetti di cioccolato aiutano a coprire i punti di unione dell’anello esterno.

Rabbits decorate the banner and the tag where, on reverse, we can write the name of the lucky friend that is going to receive our gift!

I conigli decorano il banner augurale e anche la tag sul cui retro si può scrivere il nome del fortunato cui  va il nostro regalo !

Welcome to Easter Bunny house and garden. Benvenuti alla casa e nel giardino del Coniglietto di Pasqua.

This charming  Easter  decoration  is going to be  a joyful centerpiece for the table this spring to welcome our guests eggs hunting.

Questa graziosa  decorazione pasquale  darà un tocco gioioso alla  tavola di Pasqua,   e accoglierà amici e parenti a caccia di uova.

We have  a quite wealthy Bunny here, with a nice house, a greenhouse (where he paints his eggs on an  especially designed desk), a bench all around a decorated tree, a wheelbarrow to move eggs around , fences and so on…

Si tratta in effetti di tutta la casa del Coniglietto di Pasqua, con tanto di serra (in cui custodisce le uova mentre le dipinge su un apposito bancone) ,di panchina tutto intorno all’albero decorato, di carriola portauova e di steccati intorno alla proprietà. 

It is quite easy to build but  some pieces , like the bench, are a challenge for bigger hands… the design could have been done in more pieces, but part of the fun in thinking something like this is also imagine a single piece of paper that folded, turned and glued is transformed in a 3d structure.

Nell’insieme costruirla è abbastanza semplice, anche se certi pezzi sono un po’ più complicati da montare viste le piccole dimensioni. Se fosse da solo l’albero si potrebbe tagliare grande anche quasi il doppio e sarebbe più comodo montare la panchina che gli gira attorno…si poteva fare in più pezzi, ma il divertimento sta anche nell’immaginare geometrie che piega e gira diventano 3 d… 

There are little details we had fun to draw: the long ears window frame, the bells hanging from the roof and all the small fences… Actually these are the things that remind us why we like a cutting machine so much: cut as  you  draw is really fun !!!

Ci sono piccoli dettagli che ci siamo divertiti a disegnare:  la finestra orecchiuta, le campanelle sul tetto e tutti i dettagli degli steccati… In effetti è in questi dettagli che si riscopre l’entusiasmo per il plotter da taglio: ritagliare quello che disegni è bellissimo!!! 

We made a version that is a box containing chocolate eggs!

Abbiamo anche realizzato una versione che diventa scatola porta ovetti.

Where the drinks have no names. Dove le bibite non hanno nome.

When we organize a lunch or an afternoon  “tea” we have always the problem to make easy to identify the drinks with no brand names.  We like a mix, very popular with different names all around the world , of lemon scented soda (gazzosa, in Italian) and a little amount of beer. The “promoter” of this soft mix in our family  is Mario that used to drink it as an alternative for  the good, but strong, San Miguel beer in the Philippines, where they call it Shandy.
To mix it is probably  a capital offence for the serious beer drinker, but  it is really refreshing  in hot summers.

Quando organizziamo un pranzo o un “té” in giardino abbiamo sempre il problema di rendere facile l’identificazione delle bibite “senza marca”. Ci piace un mix, molto popolare in tutto il mondo con nomi diversi, fatto di gazzosa e poca birra. L’entusiasta di questa bibita in famiglia è Mario che la beveva  come alternativa  all’ottima, ma un po’ forte (per lui) birra San Miguel, quando viveva nelle Filippine, dove questo mix è chiamato Shandy. Si tratta di qualcosa che gli amanti della birra considerano un crimine da punirsi con la morte, ma è davvero rinfrescante nelle estati afose: togliete un bicchiere di gazzosa dalla bottiglia e sostituitelo con uno di birra e avete una bottiglia di Shandy.

 

 

We made a lettering and bubbles  decoration to hung to the bottle neck  kept in place by a “belt”. It looks like a colorful addition to the  table and perfectly accomplishes its mission.

 

Abbiamo fatto una decorazione  bolle e lettering da appendere al collo della bottiglia, tenuto al suo posto da un cinturino. Ci sembra un’ aggiunta colorata ad una tavola in festa e serve perfettamente al suo scopo.

 

 

We hope that the wheather will be nicer than it has been this July and August and will give us some wonderful  days in September (and  October) to enjoy our gardens and friends company, so,  it is really a simple thing , but  if someone is interested and will leave a comment on this blog asking  can have the shandy studio file as a gift.


Speriamo che il tempo sia più bello di quello che è stato in luglio e agosto e ci dia qualche bella giornata in settembre e ottobre per godere dei nostri giardini e della compagnia degli amici, per cui, anche se è una piccola cosa , se a qualcuno il nostro progetto piace e lo volesse lasci un commento sul blog e ce lo chieda, gli invieremo il file di taglio .studio in regalo.

An Album for Mariapaola. Un album per Mariapaola

When I showed to Maripaola our scrapbooking paper she was very enthusiast of this pattern with the birds hopping in and out the cages that we named “free to stay”. So I decided to produce an album using this decor for her.

Quando ho mostrato a Mariapaola le nostre carte per scrapbooking, lei è stata molto entusiasta di quella con gli uccellini che entrano ed escono dalle gabbie che avevamo intitolato “free to stay”, liberi di restare.

Così ho deciso di creare un album per lei.

The album contains  five envelopes in which are organized journaling tags.

L’album contiene cinque buste in cui trovano spazio delle tags per journaling.

The envelopes are decorated with nice frames ready to accommodate pictures and titles.

Le buste sono decorate con dei cartigli pronti a incorniciare foto e titoli.

I hopes she will like this small present as she liked the scrapbooking  pages.

Spero  che questo pensiero le piaccia quanto le sono piaciute le nostre carte.

Una tag ispirata alla campagna in attesa della primavera. A country tag waiting for spring

Con questa tag partecipo alla sfida "nastri ed embossing"di Storie di timbri,carta e...
E' sempre divertente dover rispettare dei vincoli prefissati, in questo caso l'uso della tecnica di embossing e l'abbellimento con nastri. Ho sfruttato così i miei nuovi embossing di foglie disegnati da Tim Holtz, la scansione delle foglie di quercia di Mario e il capriolo che ha fatto per il nostro Logo, che noi ormai chiamiamo lo "ZIGTAC"... speriamo che quelli in pelo, carne ed ossa, che amano farci visita nel nostro giardino in Piemonte, non si stiano mangiando le azalee !

With this tag we join the challenge "ribbons and embossing". It is always fun having to meet requirements, in this case the embellishment with ribbons and  the use at least of one embossed element.

So I used my newly purchased leaves designs by Tim Holtz, a copy of my brother Mario botanical watercolor of oak leaves and his roe deer design he did for our logo, that we call "ZIGTAC" deer... hoping that the real ones, that love to visit our garden in Piedmont, are not in this very moment eating out our

azaleas !

White tag challenge. Il nostro primo challenge

Ho creato questa tag per partecipare alla sfida "White Tag" di Storie di timbri, carta e ....Vorrei che fosse la prima di una serie. Ho pensato ad un riferimento stagionale perché vorrei farne almeno quattro per usarle come pagine divisore per un album  di foto di questo (speriamo bellissimo) 2014.
Per farla ho usato sia il nostro bellissimo plotter da taglio, sia le mie amate fustelle. L'airone l'ho "rubato" da un disegno preparatorio per una incisione di mio fratello, forse non si vede molto dalla foto ma è applicato in rilievo. La citazione è da Shelley.
Questa è la mia prima tag (e anche la prima volta che partecipo ad una sfida) e mi sono divertita tantissimo!

I created this tag to take part in a challenge, I would like it to be the first of a serie. I thought of a seasonal theme planning to create four  tags to be used as dividers in a photo album for this (hopefully wonderful) 2014. I used our cuttingplotter as well as my loved dies.  The heron drawing comes from a preliminary sketch for an etching by my brother. The quote is from Shelley.
This is my first tag and my first attemp to partecipate in a challenge, and it was a lot of fun !
