Tribute to Venice. Omaggio a Venezia

Venice is so magical...We were inspired by its flamboyant late gothic architecture, with marbles structures looking like the laces they embroider in Burano. Imagine to meet Portia and Bassanio, or Marco Polo crossing the waters of the Canal Grande...

Venezia è così magica...Siamo stati ispirati dalle sue architetture tardo gotiche in cui i marmi si trasformano in merletti di Burano. Immaginate di incontrare Porzia e Bassanio, o Marco Polo mentre attraversate le acque del Canal Grande.

It is an elegant palace, with a rectangular base, with an elegant front on the street and another front with a recessed porch to wait for the gondola and an ornated loggia overlooking the Grand Canal.

Abbiamo fatto una casa ispirata ai palazzi sul Canale , a pianta rettangolare , con un affaccio sulla strada con ampie finestre e uno sul canale con un portico per aspettare la gondola, ed un' elegante loggia per ammirare il panorama.

TRIBUTE TO VENICE

The design is very elaborated looking , but actually it is very easy to assemble and with plenty of space for the personal touch of the maker.

Anche questo progetto è piuttosto elaborato e sembra molto complesso da costruire, ma in realtà è molto semplice da realizzare e resta personabilizzabile negli esiti finali.

The facades have 3 layers just align them at the base and glue them and you have the 4 walls.

Le facciate sono composte da tre strati basta allinearle alla base ed incollarle ed ecco fatti I quattro muri.

The porch ( where you will wait for your gondola ) must be placed behind the 3 arches , at the back of  the arches on the first floor you must place the opaline paper to half hide the lady leaning on the column.

Il portico (per aspettare la gondola) va inserito dierto i 3 arconi. , mentre dietro le due logge vanno incollati gli inserti di carta opalina che faranno da tenda. Dietro le tende si pone , appoggiata a una colonna, la figurina femminile.

The constuction of the box for the base and of the roof complete the work. Now just add the gondola!

La costruzione dello scatolotto di base e del tetto completa il lavoro. Ora basta aggiungere la gondola!

A particular green house. Una serra speciale

Quando dicevamo che Il nostro giardino è sempre  una grande fonte di ispirazione ma si porta dietro tanto lavoro ( sul campo e non) ecco cosa intendevamo. .. la nostra stanza da bagno si è trasformata  in una serra !!! Poiché non ci sono limiti alla pazzia ( e lì sta il divertimento ) l’ispirazione botanica ha travolto tutto…

When we said that our garden is always a great source of inspiration but it  means  a lot of work to be done (on the fields  and not) this is what we had in mind: our bathroom is becoming a green house!!! There are no limits for imagination ( there lies the fun) so botanical inspiration is transforming everything…

In alto sulla vasca  ci sono vasi, barattoli per cibo per pesci da laghetto, uccellini che si stanno rifocillando ed anche un pignone  decorativo.

High over the bath-tub  there are vases, cans of pond fish food, birds eating and a big  decorative pine cone.

La porta scorrevole che si apre sulla lavanderia sta diventando un armadio del giardinaggio con tre ripiani per barattoli, scatole, spruzzatori, piccoli attrezzi, buste di semi e perfino un annaffiatoio, una fila  di cassettini  e due ante appena socchiuse…

The sliding door to the laundry room is becoming a cupboard with three shelves for gardening tools, seeds envelopes, sprayers, even a small watering can, then there is a line of small drawers and a couple of small doors not completely closed.

Sull’altra parete una finestra in ferro battuto si apre sul paesaggio, mentre sul davanzale trovano spazio vasi fioriti, vecchie latte di riciclo e caraffe per giacinti.

On the facing wall a wrought iron window  opens on the valley while on the window sills there are flowering  vases, old recycled cans and glass hyacinth roots jars.

"Teatime shelf" clock. L'ora del the, mensola finta orologio vero.

With our cutting machine we are making clocks inspired to shelves on wich  are "put" special objects, from the heirloom teapot to the most loved book. This is the first of the serie. Stiamo realizzando, con il nostro plotter da taglio, una serie di  orologi da parete, mensole sulle quali sono "posati" oggetti speciali, dalla teiera al libro preferito. Questo è il primo esemplare.

 

The Making Of

 

 

 

We used a repositioning glue to simplify the small parts handling. To give a realistic look to the patchwork we cut in several pieces the floral part of the bear paw pattern. More tries were needed to find the right measurements for the clock hands holes to have a perfectly working piece.

 Abbiamo usato una colla riposizionabile per facilitare l'incollaggio delle parti piccole. Per dare un effetto realistico al patchwork il motivo della zampa d'orso è stato suddiviso nella parte floreale in più pezzi. Abbiamo dovuto fare più tentativi per trovare le esatte dimensioni per i fori delle lancette perché l'orologio funzionasse correttamente.
