This Christmas decor is a walk around in a small town ready for the Season. The lights are bright inside the windows and some houses show the joy for the holy night with garlands of colorful ornaments on their facades. The Church is prepared for the rites and the trees have the classic balls amid their branches. This decoration has been designed to be used in the season and then folded and saved in its box. The box contains also a card to use if you decide to give this decoration as a gift.

Questa decorazione è una passeggiata in una cittadina pronta per le feste di Natale. Le luci splendono dietro le finestre e alcune case mostrano la gioia per il Natale con ghirlande luminose sulle facciate. La chiesa è pronta per I riti della Notte Santa e gli alberi hanno le classiche palline fra i rami. Questa decorazione è stata disegnata per essere usata nella stagione natalizia e poi piegata e ritirata nella sua scatola. Nella scatola trova spazio anche un biglietto utile se si decide di usare come dono questa decorazione.

All the buildings    Tutti gli edifici

These are the structures of the shade, I cut them in cardboard 270 grams /sqm. They will have a  colored decorative panel on the front and a lighter panel (120 grams) as finishing at the back. Queste sono le sagome degli edifici che io ho tagliato in carone 270 grammi e che avranno una fodera colorata sul fronte ed una più leggera (120 gr) per rifinire il tutto sul retro.

 Every house has a shape to cut in opaline paper that must be  glued to the back panel and then to the structure. Ogni casa ha una forma da tagliare in carta opalina da incollare alla fodera del retro e quindi alla struttura

For the larger houses I added a strip of opaline paper  to add color to the Christmas string lights. Per le case più larghe ho aggiunto una striscia di carta opalina per aggiungere colore alle lucine natalizie

The glue on the back panel to attach the opaline paper. La colla applicata  per la carta opalina sulla  fodera del retro 

Glue the back  to the  white structure being careful not to stain the opaline paper. Incollare la fodera del retro alla struttura bianca facendo attenzione a non macchiare la carta opalina

Glue the green panel on front and the top star on the front and at the back. Incollare il pannello verde dell'albero su fronte e il puntale a stella sul fronte e sul retro.

The Church   La chiesa

 All the needed pieces. I pezzi necessari

First glue 3 pieces (door , round window and top tower) of opaline paper to the back panel.  Prima incolliamo 3 pezzi di carta opalina (porta, rosone e campanile) alla  fodera del retro

Then  glue the 2 colored pieces  (inner yellow circle and flower) of opaline paper to the back of the structure piece.  Quindi  incolliamo 2 pezzi di carta opalina (il centro e il fiore del rosone)  ma sul  retro del pezzo della struttura

Now glue  the back panel to the back of the structure hiding the opaline layers inside.  Ora incolliamo il  pannello del retro alla struttura nascondendo gli strati di carta opalina all'interno

How the church attaches to the houses parade.  Come la chiesa è unita alle case

Prepare the gated passages adding the bell decors, then after having folded them glue them at the sides of the church,  the "pegs" will  join the the side houses. 

Preparate i passaggi coi cancelli completandoli con le campane, quindi dopo averli piegati incollateli alla chiesa, le spine serviranno  per unirla alle case sui lati

These pieces that will hold the shade together can be cut in a paper of the same color as the back panel to be less vivible, but must be cut in a thicker material. Questi due pezzetti che terranno la passeggiata insieme possono essere tagliati in una carta del colore della fodera del retro ma di grammatura superiore

On the front  of the neighbouring houses are needed the corner stones designs, on the back the pieces with the slots for the "pegs".

  Sul fronte delle case di fianco saranno necessarie le pietre d'angolo e sul retro i pezzi con le fessure per l'inserimento delle spine

To get easily the slots just hold the pieces  close on the sides of double dotted lines and push inward .  Per ottenere facilmente il dis-assamento delle "tasche" basta tenere il pezzo a destra e sinistra di ogni coppia di linee tratteggiate e spingere  verso l'interno.

The corner stones piece is ready to glue on the front while the back is  finished ready to insert the church sector.   Le pietre d'angolo son pronte da incollare sul fronte, mentre il retro è finito e pronto a unirsi alla sezione con la chiesa

The gated small streets at the side of the church links to the lateral houses forming our walking path.  Le  stradine chiuse da cancelli ai lati della chiesa si uniscono alle case sui due lati formando la nostra passeggiata

The base folds to have doubled well finished edges. 

La base si piega per rifinire e irrigidire  i margini

The sides have top folded edges too.

Glue the side elevation to the base using the small cuts on the plate as reference.  Incollare i lati alla base usando come riferimento i piccoli tagli sul foglio

Now the base is missing only the lining

Fold the trees hiding the tabs below.  Piegare gli alberi nascondendo sotto le linguette

For the trees and the lining I used a thinner paper.  Per gli alberelli e le fodere  ho usato una carta più leggera

Also the top plate folds to have doubled well finished edges. 

Anche il piano del coperchio si piega per rifinire e irrigidire  i margini

A paper in contrast under will enhance the lettering.

Una carta in contrasto sotto farà risaltare la scritta

Fold and glue this piece to shape the flat part that will enter the box.

Piega e incolla questo foglio per creare la parte del coperchio che entra nella scatola

Under  the top plate is attached the part of the cover that will enter the box. 

Sotto il piano del coperchio si attacca il corpo che entrerà nella scatola
